Week 4 Recap:

With momentum on their side, the Rockford IceHogs head into Week 5 winning five of their last six match-ups after splitting a pair of weekend affairs against the Chicago Wolves and Lake Erie Monsters at the BMO"ˆHarris Bank Center.

Bacon Bits:

-Rockford more than doubled their game-high combined penalty minute total (62 PIMs) with 130 against Lake Erie on Saturday

-Of the 130 minutes, 84 came at the end of the second period with Rockford receiving 56 PIMs

-Three different Rockford skaters, Andrew Shaw, Brandon Bollig and Wade Brookbank received game-misconducts, along with Assistant Coach Ben Simon

-Marcus Kruger totaled 16 PIMs on Saturday a career-high

-In 71 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season, Kruger totaled 22 PIMs

-Rockford is second in the AHL in PIMs per game, averaging 29.2 minutes of penalty time

-Rockford has three skaters in the top 15 in the AHL in PIMs

-The IceHogs have scored 15 of their 30 goals in the third period this season, including a season-high four on Saturday

-In 10 games, Rockford has scored three or more tallies in the third frame four times

-Rockford is 5-for-5 in killing off 5-on-3 power plays this season, all on home ice

-Brandon Pirri is riding a team season-high six-game point streak, totaling 5g-4a

-Martin St. Pierre has a four game point streak, totaling 1g-3a

-Defenseman Brett Lebda notched three assists on Saturday, an IceHogs single-game high and his first points of the season

-Kyle Beach has 4g-2a-6pts over his last four game after getting held without a point in his first four games

-Over Rockford's last six games, the team is averaging 4.17 goals per contest after scoring just 1.25 during their first four outings

-Rockford has scored a goal in 13 straight periods/overtimes spanning four straight games

Hot Hog: Week 4:

Kyle Beach, Left Wing

Kyle Beach totaled five points in two games during Week 4. The third-year winger opened the week with his third career two-goal performance on Friday against Chicago. Beach then followed that up with a three point effort on Saturday, including a goal and two assists, in Rockford's 6-3 come-from-behind win over Lake Erie. For his three-point outing, Beach was named the game's #1 Star. Beach was also named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week.

Upcoming Games:

Friday, Nov. 9 at Grand Rapids Griffins: A 6 p.m. puck drop as the IceHogs travel to Grand Rapids to take on the Griffins for a second time on the young season. The two squads face off again six more times during the year.

Saturday, Nov. 10 vs. Milwaukee Admirals: Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs take on the Milwaukee Admirals for the first of 12 meetings on the campaign.
