
Vancouver Snaps Spokane's Streak

The Spokane Chiefs saw their season high 11 game win streak come to an end at the hands of the league leading Vancouver Giants on Friday night in the Spokane Arena. Vancouver scored once in the first and second and twice in the third, all five-on-five, to give the Chiefs their first loss since dropping a 2-1 decision to the Portland Winter Hawks on January 3rd.
Despite the loss, Spokane remains six points back of the Tri-City Americans for first place in the U.S. Division with three games in hand. The Americans dropped a 3-1 decision to the Portland Winter Hawks on Friday night.
Vancouver outshot the Chiefs 30-28.
Friday night was the first of three games in as many nights for Spokane. Saturday Spokane will travel to Cranbrook to take on the Kootenay Ice at 6:00. Mike Boyle will go on the air at 5:30 on KJRB 790 the Fan. Sunday night, Spokane will host Kelowna at 6:00.
