Utah's Drew Mackenzie Named Plus Performer of Month

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies defenseman Drew MacKenzie is the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for October after leading the ECHL with a plus-minus rating of +8.

MacKenzie was even or better in all six games in October, including +2 performances on Oct. 12 at Idaho, Oct. 19 at Alaska and Oct. 27 against Idaho.

Under contract to Abbotsford of the American Hockey League, MacKenzie is in his first professional season and has three points (1g-2a) in five games. A seventh-round selection (209th overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, MacKenzie played four seasons at the University of Vermont, registering 64 points (17g-47a) in 133 career games.

In recognition of his accomplishment, AMI Graphics will present Drew MacKenzie with a personalized Plus Performer of the Month Banner during an on-ice ceremony at the Grizzlies game on November 12.

The Grizzlies and Idaho will meet Friday in Boise at 7:10 p.m. as Utah opens a four-game road trip and seven of their next eight games away from Maverik Center.

Utah returns home on Monday, November 12 for Maverik Monday. With a receipt from Maverik, fans can purchase six tickets for $30 at the arena box office. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Grizzlies cup and discounted Pepsi products throughout the season.
