Orlando Solar Bears News Release
Duluth, GA - The Solar Bears saw a 1-1 score heading into the third slip away to three third period goals by the Gwinnett Gladiators as Orlando fell 4-1 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Thursday Night.
An early offensive zone faceoff win helped the Gladiators strike 2:23 into the game. D Kyle Lawson received a pass from the right point and blasted a shot through traffic to put Gwinnett up 1-0. Just 1:02 later, F Scott Tanski led a 2-on-1 into the attacking zone and moved a pass across the ice to LW Nick Petersen. The ECHL Player of the Month in October wristed a shot just underneath the crossbar to even the game at 1-1. The two sides went into the first intermission tied at one.
No scoring in the second period led to the third starting in a 1-1 score. The tie was broken 2:51 into the third, as F Evan Bloodoff wristed a puck through traffic to boost Gwinnett to a 2-1 lead. F Chris Clackson followed it up after a shot from the point hit a few players in front of the Solar Bears net, and he slammed home the loose puck to increase the score to 3-1. F Doug Jones put home the final marker of the game at 12:35, helping Gwinnett to a 4-1 victory over the Solar Bears.
