Utah Grizzlies News Release

Anchorage, Alaska - The ECHL announced today that Utah Grizzlies forward Garett Cameron has been named the league's HOK Sport Plus Performer of the Month. The third-year pro led the league with a +14 plus-minus rating during February.

The 23-year-old had a +2 in six games for the Grizzlies during the month and only one game where he wasn't even or better.

Cameron, who has already set career highs with 20 goals scored and 45 points this season, caught fire during the month of February for the Grizzlies. From February 1-24, he had a team season-high 12-game scoring streak, in which he scored eight goals and nine assists for 17 points. Utah went 9-2-1 during that span. Cameron also led the Grizzlies in February, scoring goals on 27.6 percent of his shots.

Scoring is nothing new for Cameron, who led Jason Christie's Peoria Rivermen with four goals during the 2003-2004 ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs. He also currently leads active Grizzlies with five game-winning goals. In addition, the 5-foot-9 forward is one of three Utah players to have appeared in all 58 games this season.

On Tuesday, Utah's Ryan Kinasewich was named the league's Player of the Week. Last week, the Grizzlies Alfie Michaud was the ECHL's Goaltender of the Week.

The Grizzlies have today off in Alaska, before returning to action tomorrow and Saturday with the Aces at Sullivan Arena. Face-off both nights is scheduled for 9:15 p.m.
