RoadRunners Acquire Jon Ames From Toledo

Phoenix, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have acquired rookie forward Jon Ames from the Toledo Storm in exchange for cash considerations.

Ames, 23, led the Utica College Pioneers with 16 goals as a senior last season and finished second overall on the team in scoring with 26 points in 27 games. The Baldwinsville, N.Y. native recorded 34 goals and 68 points in two seasons at Utica following a transfer from the University of Connecticut. Ames had one goal and two assists in 22 games with Toledo after signing with the Storm as a free agent on December 16.

"We're looking forward to bringing Jon on board for the rest of the year," said RoadRunners General Manager and Head Coach Ron Filion. "As we begin to shape our roster for next season, he could be a good fit in our system."
