
Urps, 'Dogs Come Back for 5th Straight Win

AMARILLO, Texas -- Tyler Urps came through with two huge hits late as the Saltdogs (23-20) came back to beat the Texas AirHogs (17-27) 10-8 in front of 6,582 fans at Potter County Memorial Stadium Monday night.
Urps stroked a two-out RBI single to left in the seventh, completing Lincoln's five-run come back to tie the game at 7-7.
After Texas plated an unearned run in the eighth, Urps smoked a three-run double down the first base line to give the Saltdogs the ultimate lead, for their fifth straight win.
Evan Reed worked a scoreless ninth for his 10th save.
Stephen Shackleford (2-2) pitched the eighth, allowing an unearned run to grab the win.
Jon Smith homered for the second straight day, his seventh of the season.
Lindsey Caughel bounced back resiliently after allowing seven runs - five earned - in the second by retiring 13 of the final 14 batters he faced to keep the 'Dogs in the game.
Dainer Moreira sparked the Saltdogs' comeback with a two-run single in the fourth. Lincoln plated two more in the fifth to make it 7-6.
The clubs combined for six errors, leading to five unearned runs.
The series continues Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Shairon Martis is expected to face RHP Cody Hebner.
