Goldeyes Add Reliever Tasin

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed right-handed pitcher Robert Tasin on Tuesday afternoon.

Tasin earned six saves over 28 relief appearances earlier this season for the Low-A South Atlantic League's Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies). The Houston, Texas native struck out 44 batters over 34.2 innings pitched. Last season, Tasin led the Short Season-A New York-Penn League with 17 saves while pitching for the Williamsport Crosscutters. The 24-year-old right-hander posted a 1.84 ERA with 24 strikeouts and only six walks in 29.1 innings of work.

Tasin was drafted by the Phillies in the 19th round in 2015 out of the University of Oklahoma (Norman, Oklahoma). During his three-year career with the Sooners, Tasin was 14-7 with three saves and a 3.44 ERA, including a 9-2 mark as a senior in 2015.

Rookie infielder Carter McEachern was placed on waivers prior to Monday's game. McEachern cleared and is now a free agent.

The Goldeyes' active roster currently stands at the American Association maximum of 23 players.
