
Union Ready to Get Back to Action

CHESTER, Pa. (June 21, 2010) - Philadelphia Union return to action after a week off to prepare for PPL Park's Opening match against the Seattle Sounders FC on Sunday, June 27th, at 5 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2. The Union are coming off of a 2-0 loss against the Kansas City Wizards on June 10th.
The Union (2-7-1, 7 points) and the Sounders (4-6-3, 15 points) have already met once this season, kicking off the 2010 Major League Soccer season on March 25 in Seattle. The Sounders' posted a 2-0 triumph over the new expansion team in front of a sell-out Seattle crowd. 10 games into the Union's MLS calendar, the Sounders now visit Philadelphia to inaugurate the brand-new soccer specific stadium in Chester, PPL Park. Nowak's squad will look to keep their undefeated home streak intact, while the Sounders will hope to gain the three points needed to keep them climbing in the Western Conference rankings.
On Wednesday, June 23rd, the Union will travel to Central Pennsylvania to face their Minor League affiliate, Reading United A.C. in an exhibition match scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. EST at the Exeter High School's Don Thomas Stadium.
