RSL Gets Back To MLS Play Friday
June 21, 2010 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Real Salt Lake News Release
Real Salt Lake (7-3-2, 23 pts.) will help Major League Soccer get back into the swing of things following the League's break for the opening weeks of the 2010 FIFA World Cup this Friday, June 25, when the defending MLS Cup champs will welcome the San Jose Earthquakes (5-4-2, 17 pts.) to Rio Tinto Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. MT kickoff. The important Western Conference tilt will be televised locally on KUSG 2.2 (Comcast 111/Dish Network 12) - and followed by the 30-minute America First Credit Union Post-game Report - and can also be followed live on RSL's official radio partners - KALL 700 Sports (English), ESPN Deportes 1600-AM and Homero 106.1-FM (Spanish) - or by checking into RSL's Official Twitter feed, located at www.Twitter.com/RealSaltLake.
Tickets for Friday night's contest are now available online at www.RealSaltLake.com and www.RioTintoStadium.com, over the phone at 801-727-2700, and in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office from 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on weekdays and beginning at 10:00 a.m. MT on gameday.
Real Salt Lake will be looking to continue its 16-game home undefeated streak in League play when San Jose comes to Sandy on Friday night, a streak that stretched to 20 games overall with last Saturday's thorough 2-0 domination of Costa Rican side Puntarenas F.C. in international friendly action. The Claret-and-Cobalt and the âQuakes have already met twice this season at Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., with RSL first taking a 3-1 triumph in both teams' 2010 MLS season opener back on March 27 before following that up three weeks later on April 14 with a 5-3 win in penalty kicks in Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Qualifying play after a riveting 3-3 comeback draw. The Utah side is now 3-3-4 in League contests against San Jose, a mark that improves to 4-3-5 when factoring in their two meetings in U.S. Open Cup affairs.
