
Two-Out Runs Doom Roadrunners

AMARILLO, Texas---The Edinburg Roadrunners allowed all their runs with two outs in a 10-2 loss to the Amarillo Dillas Sunday night at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa.
Mike Reeves (2-2) picked up the loss after pitching four innings and allowing 10 runs on 10 hits, three of which were home runs.
Wilmer Pino started the first with a double and then came into score on an RBI ground out by Wilson Batista giving the Roadrunners the 1-0 lead.
The Dillas (14-11) answered back with a two-run home run by Daryl Jones off of Reeves in the bottom of the first. After a single by Stephen Douglas, Alberto Cruz hit the second two-run home run of the inning making it 4-1 Amarillo.
With two-outs in the bottom of the third and runners at first and second, Sam Palace hit a two-run double that allowed Cruz and TJ Warren to score extending the Dillas lead 6-1.
In the top of the fourth, Felix Molina hit a lead-off double and then moved to third on a wild pitch by Dillas starter Ralph Roberts (3-2). After a ground out by Ambiorix Concepcion, a throwing error by Jones allowed Molina to score making it a 6-2 game.
A grand slam by Cruz in the bottom of the fourth extended Amarillo's lead to 10-2.
Chris Ingoglia and Joseph Muro combined for an inning and a third of scoreless baseball for the Dillas with Muro pitching a perfect ninth giving Amarillo the 10-2 victory.
The Roadrunners (17-7) and Dillas play the final game of this four-game series Monday night at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa. Tim Haines (3-1) is expected to face Ronald Lowe (2-1) with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
