
Two Indians named NWL All-Stars

SPOKANE, WA - The 2007 Northwest League All-Star Team was announced today by league president Bob Richmond, and Indians fans will be pleased to know that two familiar faces are on the roster. Catcher Jonathan Greene and left-handed relief pitcher Ryan Falcon were named to the team, after both have had exceptional seasons for Spokane this year.
Greene is hitting .251 and is ninth in the league in RBI with 44, and is tied for fourth in the NWL in home runs with 11 long balls. Falcon has pitched 40.1 innings in relief and has a 2.45 ERA with 54 strikeouts.
Spokane has two of the five players from the Northwest League East, and tied Yakima in the division for number of players selected with two. Salem-Keizer from the West Division had the most all-stars with four, after powering their way to a current record of 51-17 on the year.
Former Spokane Indians manager Greg Riddoch, who is now the skipper of the Eugene Emeralds, earned Manager of the Year honors alongside Salem-Keizer's Steve Decker. Riddoch led the Indians to their 2005 Northwest League Championship. The 2007 Northwest League All-Star Team is as follows:

ROSTER MOVES: Third baseman Kenny Smith has been sent to the Single-A Clinton LumberKings. Outfielder Julio Borbon has been sent to the Arizona League Rangers. Two new players have also been added to the Indians roster, outfielder Engel Beltre and catcher Cristian Santana, after being moved up from the Arizona League.
