Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils' single-season attendance record fell Tuesday night, as the Tri-City Dust Devils began their final homestand of the season with a 6-0 loss to the Yakima Bears. With two games left in the home schedule, a total of 70,004 fans have walked through the gates at Dust Devils stadium, eclipsing the old record of 69,824 set in 2002.
The loss cuts the Dust Devils' lead in the Northwest Division East Division to a half game over Spokane. The Indians regained second place with a 3-2, twelve inning win over Boise. Boise is in third, one game back, while Yakima is just two games behind the Dust Devils.
The Yakima offense put up an impressive fifteen hits en route to their six runs. Six Bears collected multi-hit games, and Yakima collectively left 28 runners on base. Shane Byrne was 2 for 5 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs.
Winning pitcher Dan Fournier pitched seven innings and gave up six hits in improving to 6-4 on the year. Drew Coffey (2-5) took the loss for the Dust Devils after giving up two runs in relief of starter Connor Graham.
The final two regular season games at Dust Devils Stadium will be Wednesday and Thursday.
