The Boise Hawks remained within a game of first place with a 9-0 shutout of the of the Spokane Indians Wednesday night. Zach Ashwood got the win pitching his finest game of the season, tossing zeroes for six and two-third innings. New-comer Simon Lee finished with two and one-third innings for the second Hawks' shutout of the season.
The Hawks broke open a 3-0 game with a six-run eighth inning highlighted by Kyler Burke's team-leading ninth home run of the season, a three-run shot off Keisuke Ueno, and Jonathan Wyatt's two run double. Brandon Guyer had a pair of RBI singles for the Hawks. Tony Thomas had a pair of hits, an RBI, scored two runs and stole his 22nd base of the season.
The series continues Thursday as the Hawks send Chris Huseby to the mound. He will be opposed by the Indians' Michael Main. Game time at Boise Memorial Stadium is 7:15 p.m
