Boise Hawks News Release
BOISE, ID - The Boise Hawks' fireworks show planned for Friday, August 31 has been cancelled by Idaho State Fire Marshall Mark Larson.
On August 20 2007, Idaho Governor Butch Otter declared a statewide fire emergency. With that in mind, Fire Marshall Larson has cancelled the Hawks' burning permit.
"Needless to say, we're disappointed," said Hawks' President/General Manager Todd Rahr. "But we're also obviously well aware of the horrific fires raging throughout the state and we understand we've got a civic responsibility to do what we can to mitigate the problem."
Friday's game with Spokane is Kid's Appreciation Day. The first 1,000 kids 10-and-under will receive a fielding glove compliments of Wendy's.
The Hawks are in their 21st season of Northwest League play. The club has won 6 NWL Championships, the most recent banner coming in 2004. Season, mini-pack, and single game tickets for Hawks' games are available at 322-5000. Don't stand in line. Purchase and print your tickets from home @ BoiseHawks.com. Go Green!
