Fresh off winning three games in four days last week the Roadrunners will now turn their attention to their first meeting of the season with the Stockton Heat this Friday night at Stockton Arena in California. Goaltender Merrick Madsen became the talk of the American Hockey League with his recent success, becoming the first goaltender in team history to post consecutive shutouts in regular season games in just his third and fourth AHL starts.
Newly appointed team captain Dakota Mermis is expected to make his debut wearing the "C" on Friday after returning from a stint with the Arizona Coyotes last week.
Last night goaltender Hunter Miska became the 20th former Roadrunners to play a game for the parent club, making his NHL debut in the team's contest against the Detroit Red Wings. The second-year pro has played in 43 career games with Tucson, including seven thus far this season.
