The Elmira Jackals announced on Tuesday that defensemen Matt Krug and Drew Paris have been assigned to the club by the AHL's Chicago Wolves and Toronto Marlies, respectively. The Jackals also announced that they have released forwards Chris Affinati and Justin Barr.

Krug, who was recalled from Elmira on Mar. 9, has six assists and 34 penalty minutes with the Jackals this season and posted three goals, four assists, and 67 penalty minutes to start the season with the Gwinnett Gladiators. The Livonia, Mich. native was named the IHL's Defenseman of the Year in 2009-2010 as a rookie, collecting 47 points (14g-33a) and 209 penalty minutes with the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Paris, recalled from Elmira on Mar. 12, has two goals and four assists for six points in 20 games with the Jackals this season while recording two goals and 10 assists for 12 points earlier this season with Gwinnett. Last season, Paris was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team as he led first-year defensemen with 45 points (12g-33a) with the Gladiators.

Both Krug and Paris played in one AHL game during their recent recalls, with neither registering a point.
