Salmon Kings Sign D-Man Ritchie

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed defenseman Cam Ritchie for the 2010-11 season.

Ritchie, 24, joins the Salmon Kings after finishing a four-year career (2007-08 thru 2010-11) in the NCAA with Princeton University. In 106 career games at school he netted five goals and 26 assists for 31 points while accruing 68 penalty minutes. During his time as a Tiger, Ritchie was named to three All-Academic Teams, and helped the club to an ECAC Conference Championship in the 2007-08 campaign.

The 6-0, 196 lb defenseman spent two seasons (2005-06 and 2006-07) in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) as a member of the Fort Saskatchewan Traders. Ritchie dressed for 93 career games there and finished with 62 points (16g-46a) and 115 minutes in penalties. In his final year in Fort Saskatchewan, he served as the club's alternate captain, received a league All-Star honour and was awarded the team's Academic Ability Award.
