Twice Is Nice For Aklinski

Ben Aklinski became the first Crosscutters to homer twice in a game since 2014 , as the Cutters topped the Black Bears 2-1 to open the series.

Aklinski finished the night 2 for 4 with a pair of solo home runs, giving him a team-leading six for the year. Rafael Marchan was the only other Cutters to record a pair of hits, finishing 2 for 4, raising his batting average to .316.

Manuel Sliva earned his firs win, allowing just one run over 5.2 innings of work. Silva struck out five and walked only one. Randy Alcantara provided 2.1 innings of relief and Keylan Killgore earned his 6th save, tossing a perfect 9th inning.

Seven of the Crosscutters 21 home runs have come at home. Williamsport improves to 10-13 at home. Jiandido Tromp was the most recent Cutter to hit two home runs in a game, doing so on July 22nd, 2014. Tromp went on to hit a franchise record 14 home runs that year.
