Weekend Recap: The Oilers split of pair of games on a south Texas swing with a 6-1 victory in Laredo last Friday followed by a 6-3 loss at Rio Grande Valley on Saturday. Tulsa is 4-3 overall with a 3-2 record away from home. Rookie Mike Ullrich led the Oilers offense with two goals and an assist against Laredo and two more goals against Rio Grande Valley. Ullrich's linemate and fellow rookie Dylan Clarke also finished the weekend with five points and now leads the team with eight points through the first seven games. Goaltender Ian Keserich stopped 33 of 34 shots in the win over Laredo and has now started in every single game this season.

Rookies Lead the Way: CHL newcomers are littering the stat sheet for the Oilers and the rookie line of Dylan Clarke, Mike Ullrich, and Ryan Cramer has been Tulsa's most productive trio. Clarke, a product of Division III SUNY-Plattsburgh, tallied a goal and 4 assists last weekend and now leads the team with eight points. Ullrich scored his first CHL goal Friday at Laredo and finished his night against the Bucks with two goals and an assist. The Banff, Alberta native followed up that performance with two more goals in Saturday's tilt with Rio Grande Valley. Not to be outdone by his linemates, Cramer has chipped in two goals and four assists. Overall, six of the Oilers CHL rookies have accounted for more than half the team's points.

Funny Nickname, Serious Player: Michel Beausoleil, better known to teammates as "BoBo," has started the season as one of the Oilers biggest offensive weapons. The seven year CHL veteran is now in his fourth season with the Oilers and is averaging a point a game. With three goals and four assists, Beausoleil is already on pace to surpass the 53 point total he amassed last season. The Montreal native is a fixture on the Oilers powerplay and leads the team with 26 shots on goal. The 31-year old forward has now played in 364 CHL games.

Keserich Picks Up Where He Left Off: Oilers goaltender Ian Keserich was named the Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week for the period ending October 23rd and was also named the CHL's Second Star of the Month for October. With four wins and a shutout under his belt, Keserich is already back to the form he found at the end of last season. The Cleveland, Ohio native has played every single minute in net through the first seven games of the season and enters the week with a solid 2.71 goals against average and a save percentage of .923.

"Rammer" Has Oilers on Right Track: Bruce Ramsay is now in his third season as the Oilers head coach. Last season, Ramsay guided Tulsa to its first playoff appearance since 2005 and its first playoff series victory since 1994. The Oilers finished the 2010-11 regular season in third place in the Berry Conference with 35 wins and 76 points. For a second straight season led the Oilers to a 2-0 start.

OKC Connection: The Oilers roster is littered with players who all spent a significant amount of time playing for the Oklahoma City Blazers. Marty Standish, Tyler Fleck, Gordon Bell, Michel Beausoleil, and Gio Flamminio all suited up for Oklahoma City between 1999 and 2009. The five CHL veterans combined to play in a total of 1,376 games for the Blazers. The Turner Turnpike rivalry between Tulsa and Oklahoma City was one of the most intense battles in the CHL until the Blazers ceased operations in 2009.
