Evansville's Todd Robinson Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week
November 7, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
GLENDALE, AZ (November 7, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Evansville's center Todd Robinson has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending November 6, 2011.
In recognition of his achievement, Robinson will receive a special gift from Oakley. To learn more about the wide range of Oakley's products, visit www.oakley.com.
The Trail, British Colombia native was a large factor to his team's success this week as the IceMen defeated conference rivals, Bloomington and Fort Wayne. Robinson had a part in 6 out of 7 goals scored this week for the IceMen, and put up multi-point efforts in both outings. For the week, the veteran totaled 2 goals and 4 assists with a +3 plus/minus rating.
In Friday's 4-1 road win against the Blaze, the 5-8, 175-pound forward assisted on the game's first and second goals, both scored in the first period to give the IceMen the advantage. He later scored his team's final two goals, one of them shorthanded, that buried the home team and closed out the game. He followed that up on Saturday in the IceMen's home opener and first ever game at the Ford Center by collecting a quick powerplay assist in the first period, and later notching one last assist in the second to give his team the 3-1 victory over the visiting Komets.
Evansville is sitting alone in third place in the Turner Conference with a 3-0-1 mark and are one of just two CHL teams without a regulation loss (Missouri is 6-0-1).
In his 13th professional season and first with the IceMen, Robinson has recorded more points than any other player in minor professional hockey. He has played in 805 games and notched 1,134 points (1.41 points per game).
