The Bloomington Blaze, presented by Mid-Illini Credit Union, hit the road for the first time this week after a five-game homestand to begin the 2011-12 Central Hockey League season.

LAST TIME OUT: The Blaze fell twice on home ice, losing Friday by a 4-1 count to the Evansville IceMen and by a 4-2 score on Saturday to the Rapid City Rush to drop their record to 1-3-1. Kyle Laughlin scored the lone Blaze goal on Friday, while Jon Booras and Brodie Sheahan lit the lamp on Saturday.

NEXT TIME OUT: The Blaze begin a stretch of six games in nine days on Friday, starting with a trip to the Fort Worth side of the Metroplex. Bloomington will take on the Texas Brahmas on Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 in the Nytex Sports Center in North Richland Hills, Texas. The Brahmas are also struggling in the young season with a 2-4-0 record. The Brahmas a 1-2-0 on home ice. T.J. Fox, Phil Fox and Jordan Kary each have four points to lead the Brahmas, while T.J. Fox and Mark Ehl each have two goals.

FLICKERS: Kyle Laughlin continues to lead the Blaze in goals with four, but his goal-scoring streak ended on Saturday. Jason Dale, Brodie Sheahan and Doug Krantz each have six points to share the team lead... Brodie Sheahan has scored three goals, all during power plays, tying him with Rapid City's Jeff Kryzakos for the league lead in that category...Doug Krantz is tied for the lead among CHL defensemen in scoring with six points; he is tied for the league lead in power play assists with four, and his five assists have tied him for the league lead among defensemen...Zane Kalemba has the most saves in a single game in the CHL so far this season with 52...the Blaze own the fifth-best CHL power play, converting 21.7 percent for an average of one power play goal per game...Bloomington also gives up an average of one power play goal per contest, and is 11th on the penalty kill at 76.2 percent...the Blaze are ninth in goals per game (3.00), but are last in goals against (4.80)...Bloomington hasn't picked up a win since the season opener, and the four-game non-winning streak since then is the CHL's longest....the Blaze are tied for the highest-scoring first and second periods with their three-goal opening period on October 28 and their four-goal second period on opening night.

SHAKING IT UP: The Blaze return home on Saturday, November 19 at 7:05 p.m. to face the Dayton Gems. Special guest is Zendaya Coleman, who plays Rocky Blue in the Disney Channel show "Shake It Up." Zendaya will meet fans and sign autographs (one per person) from 6 till 9 p.m. on the concourse at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, and she will also sing the national anthem.
