Tullis wins Third in a Row, 'Dads hold on, 3-1

LEXINGTON, KY - Hickory Crawdads starter RHP Braden Tullis picked up his third straight win in as many chances, as the 'Dads defeated the Lexington Legends, 3-1, before 6,211 fans at Applebee's Park in Lexington on Friday night. Tullis lasted a season-high seven innings on the mound against the Legends.

Tullis (4-0, 1.89 ERA) allowed just one unearned run on five hits with six strikeouts through a season-high seven frames, picking up the win. RHP Tyler Tufts wrapped up the victory with two scoreless innings to record the save.

Lexington (12-10, 47-45) struck first in the bottom of the second inning against Tullis. With two outs and runners at first and second, C Rene Garcia singled to center, driving in 1B Kody Hinze from second, putting the Legends ahead 1-0.

Hickory (11-11, 51-41) responded by tying the game in the top of the third inning. With two outs in the frame, 2B Travis Adair smacked a single up the middle and later took second on a wild pitch. 3B Joe Bonadonna followed with his second of three doubles, plating Adair for the 1-1 tie.

The Crawdads took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning on C Zach Zaneski's fourth home run of the season over the wall in straightaway center field.

The 'Dads added an insurance run in the seventh. With CF Guillermo Pimentel on at third with one out, Adair hit an infield single that, allowing Pimentel to race home, extending Hickory's lead to the eventual final score of 3-1.

Legends starter LHP Luis Cruz (4-2, 3.04 ERA) was saddled with the loss.
