Lexington Legends relief pitcher Kirk Clark is one short of the team's season and career record for saves. Clark, who was a member of the South Atlantic League Southern Division All-Star team, leads the league with 20 saves. Daniel Freeman saved 21 games for the 2003 Legends.

"Kirk is a great guy and a great story," said Legends General Manager Andy Shea. "I'd love to see an undrafted guy break our season saves total."

Clark signed with the Houston Astros' organization as an undrafted free agent in August 2009. He pitched in college at Iowa Western and Creighton.

Clark and the Legends will take on the Hickory Crawdads at Applebee's Park tonight at 7:05 p.m. Fireworks, sponsored by ADI, will follow the game. The Bluegrass State Games Celebration of Athletes also will be on the agenda at tonight's game.

The homestand continues with games Saturday at 7:05, including another post-game fireworks show, and Sunday at 2:05.
