Odessa Jackalopes News Release

Blaine, Minnesota - After scoring with a minute left in the first the Odessa Jackalopes held their lead for the rest of the game beating the Bismarck Bobcats, 3-2, Friday at Schwan Super Center in Blain, Minn. First-year forward Brandon Tucker scored two goals including his second game-winner in as many games to lead the Jacks past the 'Cats.

In the first, Eric Carreras (1) broke a scoreless tie with 35 seconds remaining in the period after he jammed home a loose puck past goaltender David Fessenden.

After a tight-checking clean first the play opened up in the second. Odessa had one shot on a full two-minute 5-on-3 power play, but the Jacks drew another man advantage and this time Tucker (2) made it 2-0 when he tipped a Jake Levin shot from the point past Fessenden at the 5:28 mark. Eleven seconds later Aaron Hurt got the Bobcats back within one, making it 2-1 when he fired a quick wrister past Dean Shatzer at the top of the left circle.

In the third, Tucker waited just 41 seconds to extend the Jacks lead back up to two, 3-1. Odessa killed the Bobcats first five power plays but the 'Cats finally broke through on the man advantage at 5:47 of the third, on an original no call that was reversed by the refs after further discussion, making it 3-2. Even after the reversal Bismarck failed to tie the game in the third and the Jacks earned their second consecutive win.

The Jacks wrap up the NAHL Showcase Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against the Springfield Blues (3-2-1) on Fasthockey.com and Classic Rock 102.
