Blaine, MN - The Minotauros won their second game in as many days defeating the Amarillo Bulls Friday afternoon by a 6-3 score. Â THe game started as a back and forth affair with the Tauros twice coming from behind to tie the game. Every time that Amarillo scored the Tauros found an answer. Â James LaDouce and Johnny Walker each had power play goals to answer power play goals by Amarillo in the first and second period. Â 1:36 after Walker scored to tie it Jack Murphy gave the Tauros the lead for the first time finishing a turnover created by Max Mettler. Â Austin Matinsen added the Tauros' third power play goal of the game at 19:56 of the second to give the Tauros a 4-2 lead headed into the third. Â Just as they had in each of the first two periods Amarillo struck first when Joey Molinaro found a loose puck in front of the Tauros net. Â The Tauros answered again however when Grayson Gavin ripped a shot from in tight into the back of the net; Murphy added an empty netter to push the final to 6-3.
Next up for the Tauros is the Corpus Christi Ice Rays whom are off to a 2-3-0 start. Â Corpus plays a defensive game with averaging only 26.75 shots against per game and taking only 25. Â The result is only 10 goals against and 9 goals for. Â Carter Johnson has posted a third of the Ice Rays' goals. Â Conversely, Â 9 different Tauros have combined for the Tauros 15 goals with LaDouce's 3 leading the way. Â Puck drop is at 12:15, for the Tauros on the final day of the Showcase.
