The Kelowna Rockets fell 5-3 to the Tri-City Americans in game three of the first round of the 2018 WHL Playoffs in Kennewick, WA. on Wednesday night,

Tri-City opened the scoring on an early power play as Juuso Valimaki(1) found the back of the net for the first time in the series. Midway through the frame Brett Clayton(1) got his first as well and the Americans took a 2-0 lead. The two-goal lead was short lived as Carsen Twarynski(2) got the Rockets on the board 12 seconds later. On the following play Dillon Dube was assessed a five minute major for kneeing and a game misconduct and was ejected from the game. After giving up two goals in game one on a major penalty, the Rockets killed off the major in game three and the score was 2-1 Tri-City after 20 minutes of play.

Michael Rasmussen(5) regained the Americans two-goal lead early in the middle frame, but again it was short lived as Kole Lind(3) responded for Kelowna 18 seconds later to make it 3-2. With 6:56 to go in the period Morgan Geekie(5) scored as a Kelowna penalty expired and the Americans led 4-2 after 40 minutes of play.

In the third Geekie(6) scored his second of the night to extend the Ams lead to three. With 1:31 to play Conner Bruggen-Cate(1) scored to bring the Rockets back within two but it wouldn't be enough as Kelowna falls 5-3 in game three.

James Porter stopped 21 of 26 shots he faced as the Americans outshot the Rockets 26-25.
