Tri-City Prospects Tabbed for Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup

KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans Governor/General Manager Bob Tory would like to congratulate four Americans' prospects who have been selected to represent their respective provinces in the 2009 Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup. The Tournament will run from October 29 through November 1 in Blackfalds, Alberta.

2009 Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup Participants:

- Riley Guenther, Defense, Team Alberta

- Connor Rankin, Center, Team British Columbia

- Chris Driedger, Goaltender, Team Manitoba

- Justin Hamonic, Defense, Team Manitoba

The Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup will feature the highest rated players in the Under 16 age category representing the four Western Provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The four team round robin tournament format will assist the four Western Provincial Hockey Associations evaluating these top prospects for future Program of Excellence competitions.

Thursday, October 29

Game #1 - Manitoba vs. Saskatchewan, 4:00 p.m.

Game #2 - Alberta vs. British Columbia, 7:00 p.m.

Friday, October 30

Game #3 - British Columbia vs. Manitoba, 4:00 p.m.

Game #4 - Alberta vs. Saskatchewan, 7:00 p.m.

Saturday, October 31

Game #5 - British Columbia vs. Saskatchewan, 12:00 p.m.

Game #6 - Alberta vs. Manitoba, 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, November 1

Bronze Medal Game (3rd Place vs. 4th Place), 11:00 a.m.

Gold Medal Game (1st Place vs. 2nd Place), 2:00 p.m.

*All games will take place as the Blackfalds Multiplex
