Medicine Hat Tigers News Release

Medicine Hat, AB - Medicine Hat Tigers announce this afternoon they have completed a deal with the Chilliwack Bruins.

The Tigers have traded 20-year-old Colton Grant to the Bruins for a sixth round bantam pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.

Grant has spent the past three seasons with the Tigers and was one of five 20-year-olds on the Tigers roster this season.

The Standard, AB native played in 211 games with the Tigers netting 28 goals and adding 39 assists for 67 points.

"We found our 20-year-old situation to be difficult this year," stated Tigers' gm/head coach Willie Desjardins. "Colton has been a tremendous, hard working player for us since he arrived in Medicine Hat. We wanted to see him finished off his 20-year-old season in our league with a good organization and the trade with Chilliwack is a real good fit."

"We would like to thank Colton for his contribution to our organization and wish him the best of luck with his future endeavours," said Desjardins.

The Tigers will take on the Kelowna Rockets tonight for a 7:00 pm (pst) contest in their first game of a four game road swing into the BC division.

ATB Financial Tigers hockey broadcast can be heard on CHAT 94.5 FM or www.tigershockey.com. The game can also be viewed via webcast at http://livestream.whl.ca/
