Tri-City Falls in Overtime to Dubuque 2-1

Dubuque, IA - The Tri-City Storm dropped a road game in overtime tonight to the Dubuque Fighting Saints by a final score of 2-1. The Storm's only goal in the game was scored by Nick Capone on the power play in the 2nd period. Tri-City travels to Cedar Rapids, IA to face the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders tomorrow night in the final game of the weekend. The Storm dropped to 6-7-2-1 in tonight's loss. Puck drop for tomorrow's road game is set for 7:05pm.

The 1st period ended in a scoreless tie with Tri-City outshooting Dubuque 8-4. The Storm netted a power play goal to take the lead with less than three minutes to go in the 2nd period. Nick Capone scored his 2nd goal of the season at 17:35 with Benji Eckerle and Colby Ambrosio assisting on the goal. The goal gave Tri-City a 1-0 lead entering the 3rd period. Tri-City outshot Dubuque 9-6 in the 2nd period.

The only goal of the 3rd period was scored by Dubuque's Dylan Jackson on the power play. The goal was netted at 8:47 of the period and was Jackson's 7th goal of the year. Tri-City outshot Dubuque 7-6 in the 3rd period and the game entered overtime in a 1-1 tie. After Tri-City failed to convert on its only shot of the overtime period, Dubuque's Riese Gaber ended the game by scoring a breakaway goal. Dubuque won the game 2-1 and improved to 9-2-1-0 on the season.

Tri-City returns to action tomorrow night in a road game against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Following tomorrow night's contest, the Storm return home to the Viaero Center in Kearney for three home games on Friday, November 22nd, Saturday November 23rd, and Wednesday November 27th. The Storm will play host to Team USA on Nov. 22-23rd, before hosting in state rival Omaha on Nov. 27th.
