WATERLOO, IA - The Waterloo Black Hawks topped the Lancers by a final score of 4-3 on Friday night.
The Lancers took a 1-0 lead in the first period when Ryan Sorkin (7:58). Sorkin was assisted on the goal by Jackson Decker and Alex Campbell. The Lancers held on to the 1-0 lead to end the first period.
In the second period, the Black Hawks scored back to back at 8:56 and at 11:10. Christian Berger (18:04) scored on the power-play to even the game. With seconds remaining in the period, the Black Hawks scored at 19:52 to take a 3-2 lead going into the second intermission.
In the third period, the Lancers pulled Jakub Dobes with two-minutes left to play. Waterloo capitalized on the empty net to get a 4-2 lead. The Lancers pulled Dobes again for the extra attacker. Cole Kodsi (19:09) snapped the puck in to get the Lancers on the board again. Waterloo would hold on to take the 4-3 win. Jakub Dobes stopped 30 of the 33 shots that he faced.
The Lancers are now 5-7-2-0 on the season with 12 points.
