(Reading, PA)- Trenton Starting Pitcher Wilkin De La Rosa held the Reading Phillies without a hit through six innings, and the Thunder spanked Reading 10-0 on Tuesday night from First Energy Stadium. Trenton held an opponent to only one hit for the third time this season.

Trenton scored two runs in the third inning to take a 2-0 lead. With one out in the frame, Center fielder Austin Krum reached on a bunt single against Reading Starting Pitcher Mike Stutes (8-6). Second baseman Reegie Corona walked to put runners at first and second base. With two outs, First baseman Chris Malec delivered an RBI single to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead. Catcher P.J. Pilittere followed with an RBI single to increase the lead to 2-0. Trenton tacked on a run in the third inning with an RBI double by Krum.

The Thunder broke the game open with seven runs in the seventh inning. The seven runs is a season-high for runs in an inning for the Thunder this season. Eight straight Thunder players reached base to start the inning. Shortstop Eduardo Nunez singled to start the frame. He advanced to third base on a double by Malec. Pilittere then delivered his second hit of the game, an RBI single, to score Nunez and make it 4-0. Designated Hitter Richie Robnett followed with an RBI single to plate Malec and extend the lead to 5-0. Right fielder Edwar Gonzalez reached on an infield single to load the bases for Left fielder James Cooper. Cooper reached on an error by Reading Shortstop Ozzie Chavez to plate another run and make it 6-0. A wild pitch by Reading Reliever Tyson Brummet increased the margin to 7-0. Third Baseman Marcos Vechionacci then doubled home two more runs to give the Thunder a 9-0 lead. An error by Reading First baseman Brian Stavisky capped off the scoring in the inning.

De La Rosa (4-5) retired the first 17 batters that he faced. Reading Second Baseman Brad Harman was the first player to reach for the Phillies, as he walked with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Left fielder Mike Spidale reached on an infield single to lead off the seventh inning to break up the no-hitter. De La Rosa tossed a season-high seven innings. Thunder Reliever Grant Duff pitched two perfect innings to cap off the game. Stutes allowed five hits and three runs over five innings to take the loss. Brummet yielded seven runs (five earned) in one inning. Five Thunder players had two hits in the win.

Trenton and Reading play the middle game of a three-game series on Wednesday night. LHP Jeremy Bleich (2-4, 5.36) will start for Trenton. RHP Pedro Martinez (0-0, 0.00) will make a re-hab start for the Reading Phillies. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
