North Little Rock, Arkansas - The Arkansas Travelers bested the Sod Poodles in their series opener on Friday night at Dickey-Stephens Park, as the Travs collected a 5-2 win over Amarillo.

After three scoreless innings, Luis Torrens put Amarillo in front with his 13th home run of the season in the fourth. His solo shot against Arkansas starter Ljay Newsome gave Amarillo a 1-0 lead.

The lead was short lived, as Kelenic belted a two-run homer to right field in the bottom half of the fourth to put the Travelers up 2-1.

Amarillo tied the game in the sixth. Edward Olivares, who collected two hits, hit a game-tying RBI triple against Newsome to plate Owen Miller.

In the bottom half, Dom Thompson-Williams rolled an RBI single into right field against Margevicius to give Arkansas a 3-2 lead.
