June 19, 2015 - Texas League (TL1)
Arkansas Travelers News Release
Tulsa, OK - The Arkansas Travelers and Tulsa Drillers split a doubleheader on Friday at ONEOK Field. The Travs took game one 4-1, but the Drillers countered with a 5-2 game two victory.
RHP Michael Brady picked up his second consecutive victory for Arkansas after tossing a career-high 6.2 brilliant innings. Brady did not allow a run until the bottom of the seventh inning. Since becoming a starter (five starts), Brady has struck out 22 batters and issued just one walk.
LHP Chris O'Grady picked up his fourth save of the season finishing the game for the Travs.
SS Eric Stamets finished 3-for-4 in game one, including a two-out RBI double to left-center in the second inning.
DH Brian Hernandez went 2-for-4 with an opposite field double and a run scored.
2B Sherman Johnson scored his league-leading 48th run of the season.
In game two, Tulsa launched two early home runs that put the Travs down in a 4-0 hole. 1B Lars Anderson blasted a solo shot off starter RHP Austin Wood in the second, and 3B Kyle Farmer belted a three-run home run off Wood in the third.
Arkansas fought back with solo shots in back-to-back innings thanks to CF Blake Gailen (1) and C Anthony Bemboom (2) in the fourth and fifth, but RHP Chris Anderson kept the Travs off the board the rest of the way.
Like Brady, Anderson fell one out shy of the complete game, but was extremely effective in his third start of the season against Arkansas.
LHP Jeremy Horst finished the game by getting Bemboom to fly out to center.
Arkansas mustered four hits in game two.
RHP Danny Reynolds worked a 1-2-3 fourth for the Travs, his first appearance in 13 days.
The two teams will play another doubleheader on Saturday. First pitch at ONEOK Field is scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
