Travis Blankenhorn Named International League Player of the Week

Syracuse Mets infielder/outfielder Travis Blankenhorn has been named the International League Player of the Week for the week of June 20-June 26. Blankenhorn hit .600 (12-for-20) with six RBIs, two home runs, three doubles, five walks, and six runs scored in six games against Rochester. At one point last week, Blankenhorn reached base in 13 consecutive plate appearances.
Blankenhorn has reached base in 30 of his last 34 games since May 12th, hitting .350 with 21 RBIs, five homers, 11 doubles, 20 runs scored, 13 walks, and a .416 on-base percentage during that stretch.
This is the second time this season that a Syracuse player has won a weekly league award. Daniel Palka was named the International League Player of the Week for the week of June 13-June 19.
This is the first time that Blankenhorn has won a weekly award in Triple-A.
