THE SYRACUSE ASSASSIN STRIKES AGAIN: The Wings have recorded back-to-back quality starts after RHP Logan Verrett pitched seven innings on Sunday, allowing just two hits, one run, and six strikeouts...Verrett's seven innings pitched is his longest outing of the season, and the first time he has gone seven innings in an outing since October 2nd, 2021 with Triple-A Tacoma...the veteran now has a 1.29 ERA (28 IP/4 ER) versus Syracuse this season (five starts)...the Wings have won four consecutive versus the Mets when Verrett takes the mound.
THE BIG FOUR ZERO: Sunday's 2-1 win over Syracuse gets the Red Wings their 40th win of the year and improves their record in one-run games to 15-7 this season...with the win, Rochester splits the series versus the Mets (3-3) and moves to 12-6 against Syracuse this year...the Wings are currently tied with Lehigh Valley (40-32) and are 1.5 games back of Buffalo for first place in the International League-East...after splitting the first six games, Rochester will begin the latter half of their 12-game homestand against Worcester, a team that they swept in the first series that they faced each other (5/10-5/15).
