Chapman Joins RailRiders on MLB Rehab

MOOSIC, PA - The New York Yankees have announced that pitcher Aroldis Chapman will have his Major League rehab assignment transferred to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and the left-hander is scheduled to pitch tonight against the Buffalo Bisons. The RailRiders open a six-game set against the Bisons at PNC Field with a 6:35 first pitch this evening.

Chapman has appeared in 17 games for New York this season, going 0-2 with a 3.86 ERA over 14 innings with nine saves. The seven-time All-Star was placed on the Yankees 15-Day Injured List on May 24 with left Achilles tendinitis.

He began his MLB rehab with Somerset on June 24 and has appeared in two games for the Patriots, allowing one hit and striking out two over two scoreless innings.

Chapman is the second member of the New York Yankees to rehab with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this month, joining outfielder Tim Locastro.
