Trashers look to rebound from tough week on the road

February 14, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Danbury Trashers News Release

Long bus rides and faraway destinations always make road victories tougher to come by than ones at home, but the Danbury Trashers didn't expect to be shutout of the win column in the first three of four games away from the Danbury Ice Arena.

Tough losses to Richmond, Muskegon and Port Huron have dropped the Trashers to second place in the UHL's Eastern Division, but Danbury has a chance to climb back in the standings with a battle against first place Adirondack on Wednesday and two home games against the Motor City Mechanics on Friday and Saturday at the Danbury Ice Arena.

TRASHERS WEEK IN REVIEW

February 12, 2005

Newly signed forward and former New Jersey Devils forward Michael Rupp scored his first Trashers goal in his second game, but Danbury was unable to generate enough offense as they fell to the Beacons 5-2 on Saturday night in Port Huron.

Andrew Brand and Josh Tataryn each scored two goals, while Brand finished with a four-point night as the Beacons also benefited from a shorthanded goal by Andrew McPherson in the 3rd period.

Scott Stirling started in goal for Danbury but was pulled after Tataryn's 2nd goal at the 3:35 mark of the second period. Ryan McIntosh came in and did an admirable job as he stopped 26 of 27 Port Huron shots.

Bruce Richardson scored the other goal for Danbury late in the 2nd period, which was created off a turnover as Mike Bayrack stripped Rico Faticci.
