In Brief
· 2/9: Last Game of the Road Trip
The Beacons ended their season long eight game road trip in Rockford looking to net their fourth win of the trip. The Beacons started quick as Aaron Brand (18) notched a Power-play goal at 9:34 of the first period. The Beacons would score two more times as Trevor Edwards (13) and Mat Goody (4) both found the back of the net giving the Beacons a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. The IceHogs tallied two goals in the third and forced the game into a shootout. Both goaltenders stood tall until round five. In the fifth and final round Rockford's Rod Aldoff ripped one passed Daniel Berthiaume. The Beacons finished their trip with a 3-4-1 record good for 7 points.
· 2/11: Red Wings at McMorran?
The Motor City Mechanics rolled into town with a little different look. The Mechanics had the experience of four NHL players added to their roster. Derian Hatcher, Chris Chelios and newly signed and former Red Wing, Sean Avery and former Michigan State stand-out, Brain Smolinski. It was the difference as Sean Avery tallied two goals for the Mechanics in the victory. Aaron Brand (19) scored for the second game in a row, on the Power-play as well as Shayne Tomlinson (1), who also added one assist (10). Daniel Berthiaume made 30 saves on 33 shots in the loss.
· 2/12: Danbury gets Trashed
It was the Aaron Brand and Daniel Berthiaume show, as both played an outstanding game. Brand finished with 2 goals (20,21) and 2 assists (35,36), while Berthiaume made 36 saves on 38 shots including a game saver late in the third period. Berthiaume stacked the pads and slid across the crease to keep the game at a 2-goal difference. Josh Tataryn scored twice (18,19) as the Beacons went on to win with ease over the Trashers.
· 2/13: Beacons fall in Fraser
The Mechanics newly signed players were making an immediate impact as Brian Smolinski and Sean Avery both had multiple points on the night. Josh Tataryn (20) and Malcolm MacMillan (8) tallied goals for the Beacons while Aaron Brand (37) and Trevor Edwards (16) both tallied assists on the night. Stu Dunn made the start in net giving Daniel Berthiaume the night off. Dunn made 40 saves on 44 shots and earned a third star selection for his performance.
Upcoming Games: Week Nineteen
· 2/16: Wacky Wednesday Match-up The Mallards swim into town for the sixth match-up of the season. The Beacons lead the season series 3-2-0. FACE-OFF: 6:40 p.m.
· 2/18: Komets into town for the third time Fort Wayne makes their third visit to McMorran Arena. The Komets lead the season series 2-0-0. FACE-OFF: 7:05 p.m.
· 2/19: Second game of Home and Home The Beacons face the Komets for the first time in Fort Wayne. The second game of a back-to-back. FACE-OFF: 7:30 p.m.
· 2/20: Beacons face the real Wings The Beacons travel to Kalamazoo to face the original Wings. The Wings lead the season series 4-0-0. FACE-OFF: 4:00 p.m.

Aaron Brand is only 23 points behind Michel Beausoleil for third all time on the Beacons scoring list after notching 7 points this week. Brand currently sits at 51 goals 63 assists for 114 points in 114 games played.

Player of the Week
The Beacons nominate Aaron Brand as the Sher Wood Player of the week. Brand finished the week with 7 points in four games played. Brand was +1 for the week and tallied 4 goals and 3 assists on 18 shots for the weekend's action including 3 PPG's. Brand notched four of his seven points in the Danbury game netting 2 goals and 2 assists as well as having a +3 rating.
Goaltender of the Week
The Beacons nominate Daniel Berthiaume as the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week.
Berthiaume finished the week 1-1-1 in 179:30 minutes played with 97 saves on 105 shots for a .920 SV%
and a 2.68 GAA.

The coaches show returns to the Brass Rail for another exciting season. Join Beacons play-by-play announcer, Dennis Stuckey along with Head Coach, Rick Adduono for in depth analysis of the weekends action and questions from fans of all ages. Select Beacon players will also be appearing throughout the season. Of course if you cannot make it down to the Brass Rail you can always tune into AM 1450 and AM 1590, also your home for hockey action all year long both home and away.
