The Richmond RiverDogs are now 27-24-3 after going 3-0 last week. The ‘Dogs are in third place in the Eastern Division 14 points up on Elmira. Richmond has moved ahead of Flint in the wild card race. The ‘Dogs play four games in five nights in four cities on the road this week

Wednesday, February 16 @ Motor City 7:00 PM

GAME NOTES: The third of six meetings and the first of two in Fraser, MI. The ‘Dogs are 1-1 vs. Motor City. Mechanics line-up features locked-out NHL players Chris Chelios, Brian Smolinski, Derian Hatcher, and Sean Avery. David Hymovitz has four points vs. the Mechanics.

Friday, February 18 @ Flint 7:35 PM

GAME NOTES: The third of four meetings and the first of two in Flint. Clubs split two meetings in Richmond. ‘Dogs begin the week two points ahead of the Generals in the wild card race. ‘Dogs out-shot Flint by a total of 24 in the first two meetings. Ryan Prentice has four points vs. Flint.

Saturday, February 19 @ Muskegon 7:30 PM

GAME NOTES: The second of five meetings and the first of two in Muskegon. ‘Dogs are 0-1 vs. the defending Colonial Cup champions. Brant Blackned had four points in the first meeting. The ‘Dogs were 0-1 at Muskegon last season. Now ‘Dogs goalie Brent Belecki earned the win for Muskegon.

Sunday, February 20 @ Quad City 3:00 PM

GAME NOTES: The first ever meeting with the Mallards and the only meeting of the season. ‘Dogs are 0-1 vs. the Western Division. Mallards are 3-0 vs. the East. Both clubs will be playing their third game in three nights. Mallards are five points behind the ‘Dogs in the wild card race.

Wednesday, February 9 vs. Danbury WIN 6-2

GAME NOTES: Francis Belanger and David Hymovitz each scored two goals. The ‘Dogs went 3-4 on the power play, 5-5 on the penalty kill and scored a shorthanded goal. Richmond opened up a 5-0 second period lead. The ‘Dogs fired a season high 48 shots. The clubs combined for 98 PIM.

Friday, February 11 vs. Elmira WIN 6-3

GAME NOTES: The ‘Dogs rallied from three one-goal deficits to blow the game open with three third period goals. Brett Cross and David Hymovitz each scored two goals as the ‘Dogs out-shot the Jackals by a season high 26. Richmond was 2-3 on the power play and 5-5 on the penalty kill.

Saturday, February 12 vs. Elmira WIN 8-6

GAME NOTES: The ‘Dogs survived a wild third period Jackals comeback after opening up a three goal lead. Elmira tied the game with three straight third period goals before Ryan Prentice completed a hat trick to put the ‘Dogs ahead to stay. Francis Belanger had a “Gordie Howe” hat trick.

DOG BITES: The 'Dogs have won three straight, equaling their longest winning streak of the season for the fifth time. Richmond has scored 20 goals in their last three games. The 'Dogs have scored six or more in four of their last five. he 'Dogs play four games in five nights in four cities on the road this week. Richmond plays 15 of their next 18 games on the road. The 'Dogs equaled a season high with eight goals Saturday vs. Elmira. The 'Dogs and Jackals combined for a season high 14 goals in that game. Richmond fired a season high 48 shots Wednesday vs. Danbury. The 'Dogs are averaging 44 shots per game in their last three contests. Over the last 10 games Richmond is 13 for their last 37 (35.1%) on the power play and 40 for their last 45 (88.9%) on the penalty kill. The 'Dogs are 7-3 over that stretch. The 'Dogs out-shot Elmira by a season high 26 Friday. David Hymovitz, Ryan Prentice, and David Brosseau have points in six straight games. Luch Nasato and Francis Belanger have points in three straight. Brent Belecki has won three straight starts. Nathan Grobins snapped a three game loosing streak Saturday. The ‘Dogs out-shot Elmira by a season high 26 Friday. Hymovitz is tied for third in the league in scoring. He is fifth in assists. Grobins is tied for fifth in assists. Kyle Sheen is second in PIM and game-winning goals by a rookie. Nasato is third in the league in points by defensemen. The ‘Dogs have waived defenseman Billy Rochefort and the rights to defenseman Mike Lankshear. Derek Schutz has been placed on the 7-Day IR. Mark Turner is now on the 10-Day IR
