Tourists Clinch Division Crown

ASHEVILLE, NC-- The Asheville Tourists won the second half Southern division title outright with their walk-off win over the Hagerstown Suns on Tuesday night. Asheville already secured a spot in the post-season by clinching at least a wild-card berth last Friday. With the division crown in hand, they set their sights towards the Savannah Sand Gnats for a best-of-three playoff series beginning Wednesday, September 3.

The Tourists will host Game 1 of the best-of-three playoff series against the Sand Gnats. The contest at McCormick Field is scheduled for Wednesday, September 3 at 7:05pm. Historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah will host Game 2 and if necessary Game 3 of the series. If the Tourists defeat the Sand Gnats, they will host Games 1 and 2 in the best-of-five championship series against the Northern division representative. Those home games will take place on Monday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 9.

All tickets at all levels will be the same as priced for the regular season. This includes the $1 savings by purchasing in advance. No Flex Vouchers or Rain Checks will be available for the playoffs. Tuesday, September 9 will still be Buy One General Admission Ticket and Get one Free with an Ingles Advantage Card. Playoff tickets are currently on sale online at www.theashevilletourists.com and are available at the ServPro box office in person or over the phone at (828)258-0428. Fans can purchase tickets to all three games. If the Tourists do not advance to the Championship round, refunds to games not played will be granted.

The Tourists have two regular season home games remaining; Wednesday, August 27 and Thursday, August 28 both against the Suns.
