Lexington Legends News Release

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Specially-priced box seats, Fan Appreciation Night, a final Kentucky Ale Thirsty Thursday, and a bobblehead giveaway to honor a former Legend who is now a major league All-Star will all be part of the Lexington Legends final homestand of the 2014 season.

The Legends, class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, will take on the West Virginia Power, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, in a three-game series. Game time Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is 7:05 p.m.

The schedule:

Tuesday, August 26: Legends vs. West Virginia, 7:05 p.m. As a result of the "Legends Win, You Save" promotion on an earlier homestand, box seats for the Tuesday and Wednesday games will sell for six dollars each instead of the usual $10. (The Legends won two of four games in a series with Greenville August 7-10, and the regular price was reduced by two dollars with each victory.)

Tuesday is also 37-cent hot dog night. The price is in recognition of the Ford F-150 being the best-selling truck in each of the past 37 years.

Wednesday, August 27: Legends vs. West Virginia, 7:05 p.m. Wednesday is Fan Appreciation Night, and the Legends will offer giveaway items, while supplies last, as fans enter the front gates. Fans may also register for prizes, including Legends and Royals merchandise, and tickets for 2015. Box seats will again sell for six dollars each as part of "Legends Win, You Save."

Thursday, August 28: Legends vs. West Virginia, 7:05 p.m. Thursday is Legends Hall of Fame night, and the Legends will honor Jose Altuve, who played for Lexington in 2010 and is now a two-time major league All-Star with the Houston Astros. Going into Tuesday's games, Altuve led the major leagues in batting average at .333 and hits with 179. He leads the American League in stolen bases with 47. The first 1,000 fans will receive a mini-bobblehead of Altuve, the shortest player in the major leagues at five feet five inches.

There will be a silent auction of the Legends home cream-colored uniforms during the game, with all proceeds to go to the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation, part of KentuckyOne Health.

Thursday is also the final Kentucky Ale Thirsty Thursday of the season, and beer and Pepsi products will sell for one dollar each.
