
Tortugas Welcome Dunedin for Copa De La Diversion Weekend

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Daytona Tortugas continue their a nine-game homestand at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Friday, June 28, as they welcome the Dunedin Blue Jays, the High-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, for a three-game series. As a part of Daytona's Copa de la Diversión Weekend, there will be special uniforms, fireworks, a pregame festival and live music on Saturday, and a t-shirt giveaway on Sunday.
We begin the weekend with our Best Dressed Friday series on June 28. Tortugas' players and coaches will sport special uniforms throughout the weekend as a part of the team's Copa de la Diversión celebration, honoring the rich Hispanic heritage of Central Florida presented by ECHO Tools. The uniforms will be auctioned off online throughout the weekend. It will be another Friday Night Happy Hour courtesy of Kona Brewing with buy-one, get-one Kona beer products and Bud Light from 5:30 p.m. until first pitch. Following the final out, fans in attendance will be treated to another splendid Postgame Fireworks display. First pitch for the lid-lifter is slated for 7:05 p.m.
The fun begins early as a part of a Shell-tastic Saturday on June 29. In conjunction with the Volusia County Hispanic Chamber, the Tortugas will host the Biggest Festival in Central Florida at Jackie Robinson Ballpark featuring live music, food trucks, kids activities, and much more from 12 until 5 p.m. Admission to the event is free. Gates will re-open to the park at 5:30 p.m. and those in the crowd that evening will be able to enjoy one more spectacular Postgame Fireworks show. That night's contest is scheduled to get underway at 7:05 p.m.
The series and Copa de la Diversión Weekend comes to a close on Sunday, June 30. Daytona will continue its celebration of Hispanic heritage, as the first 500 fans through the gates that afternoon will receive a limited edition T-Shirt Giveaway courtesy of ECHO Tools and US Blinds. It will be another Tiny Tugas Night at The Jack with new and exciting theme activities for all kids club members. Additionally, Kids Run the Bases following the ballgame's conclusion that evening. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with the finale penciled in for a 5:35 p.m. first pitch.
