Dunedin Opens a Series with Daytona

SERIES FINALE LOSS: St. Lucie blanked Dunedin by the final score of 3-0 yesterday to take two of three from the Blue Jays at First Data Field. St. Lucie scored a run in the second, third, and fifth innings on the RBIs from Blake Tiberi, Jeremy Vasquez, and Matt Winaker. RHP Turner Larkins tossed five innings in the loss for the Blue Jays, while Dunedin could only muster three hits offensively. The Mets used five pitchers in the game and struck out a total of 12 D-Jays hitters en route to their second series win of the season over Dunedin.

TODAY'S GAME: The Blue Jays six game road swing continues with the first of three matchups this weekend against FSL North Division rival Daytona at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach, FL. Dunedin lost their first series yesterday since May 11th and play the fourth of a six game road trip and the fourth game of a stretch of 20 games in a row. The D-Jays come in having won nine of 13, 12 of 17, and 18 of their last 26, and are holders of the best winning percentage (.622) in the Florida State League.

TODAY'S GAME: Dunedin and Daytona play game one of a three game weekend series and the first of the final six matchups between the two teams in 2019. The two North Division rivals are playing for the first time since May 2nd. The Blue Jays snatched two of three from the Tortugas at "The Jack" in early May. Tonight's game is the seventh of 12 contests between the teams in 2019. The Blue Jays have won two of the last three series against Daytona going back to September of 2018.
