Blue Jays Drop the Series Finale against St. Lucie

ST. LUCIE, FL. -The Blue Jays managed just three hits and stumbled to a 3-0 loss in the series finale to the St. Lucie Mets at First Data Field.

The Mets scored first for the third consecutive night first. In the top of the second Matt Winaker drove in the game's first run to make it 1-0 St. Lucie. In the bottom of the third, Edgardo Fermin smacked a single to right and was driven in by Blake Tiberi's RBI double to bring the Mets lead to 2-0. St. Lucie capped off their scoring in the bottom of the fifth when Jeremy Vasquez hammered a single to right to score Jacob Zanon to bring the score to its' final of 3-0.

St. Lucie utilized five different pitchers on the night. RHP Jake Simon made his first start of the year and tossed three scoreless innings. RHP Darwin Ramos notched his second win of the year in his fifth consecutive scoreless appearance. As a unit, the Mets pitchers struck out 12 Blue Jays hitters on the night.

Dunedin continues their road trip with three against Daytona beginning tomorrow night at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. LHP Nick Allgeyer (5-3, 2.63) makes the start for Dunedin against RHP Wendolyn Bautista (0-2, 2.96) throwing for Daytona.
