What You Need To Know About The Toronto Marlies

Last Week:

The Toronto Marlies posted a record of 1-2-0-0 in three road games this past week.

On Friday night, Toronto was defeated 3-1 at Blue Cross Arena by the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. Josh Leivo notched the lone Toronto goal, while Christopher Gibson stopped 18 shots in the loss.

The following night, the Marlies were defeated 6-3 by the Syracuse Crunch, AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Sam Carrick registered a goal and an assist while Christopher Gibson stopped 24 of 28 shots in relief of Garret Sparks.

In their final game of the week, the Marlies tallied three third period goals to defeat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, by a score of 3-2. Carter Verhaeghe registered an assist in his first pro game and Garret Sparks stopped 22 shots in the victory.

Look Ahead:

The Marlies will take to the ice for their final three games this coming week.

Toronto's five-game road trip continues tonight as the Binghamton Senators, AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, play host to the Marlies at 7:05 p.m. Toronto defeated Binghamton in their only other meeting this season by a score of 4-2.

The Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, will play host to the Marlies on Friday night at 7 p.m.

Toronto has a record of 3-2-0-0 against the Comets this season. In their final regular season game, the Marlies return home to host the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Toronto has a record of 4-4-0-1 against Rochester this season.
