Wild Signs Howe, Releases Reichard from PTO

Des Moines, IA - Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Wednesday that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed goaltender Joe Howe to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO) and released goaltender Cody Reichard from a PTO.

Howe spent the bulk of his rookie season with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. In 18 games with the Cycones, Howe went 10-3-4 with a 2.78 GAA and a .907 SV%. The Plymouth, MN native also played in seven games for the Missouri Mavericks of the Central Hockey League (CHL). He was 3-2-1 with the Mavericks, posting a 2.52 GAA and a .915 SV%. The 23-year old played collegiately at Colorado College from 2009-13. In 119 WCHA appearances, Howe was 65-48-8 with a 2.91 GAA and a .900 SV%.

Reichard played in two games for Iowa, going 1-1-0 with a 3.36 GAA and a .913 SV%. He returns to the Orlando Solar Bears, Iowa's ECHL affiliate. The Solar Bears begin the ECHL's Kelly Cup Playoffs starting Thursday with a best-of-seven series against Cincinnati. In 20 games with Orlando, he was 13-4-1 with a 3.18 GAA and a .903 SV %. He also made nine appearances this season for the ECHL's Fort Wayne Komets. The second-year goaltender was 2-4-3 with a 3.47 GAA and a .898 SV% in Fort Wayne. He played in seven AHL games with Houston in 2012-13, going 3-1-1 with a 2.41 GAA and a .910 SV%. The Celina, OH native started his pro career last season with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. In 27 games with the Thunder, the 27-year old was 13-8-5 with a 2.64 GAA and a .911 SV%. He played four years at Miami University (OH), going 53-24-9 with a 2.10 GAA and a .912 SV%.

The Wild welcomes Chicago for the final regular season home game on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:05 p.m. Fans may purchase a $5 ticket to the game by presenting a Subway receipt at the Wells Fargo box office. The team concludes its regular season in Oklahoma City at 7 p.m. on April 18 and April 19.
