Last Week:
The Toronto Marlies posted a record of 0-2-0-0 in two games this past week. On Thursday night, the Marlies were defeated 2-1 in Cleveland by the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.
Troy Bodie tallied Toronto's lone goal, while Christopher Gibson stopped 21 of 23 shots in his first loss of the season. The Marlies went 1- for-7 on the powerplay and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill.
In their only other contest last week, Toronto was defeated 2-1 on Saturday at Ricoh Coliseum by the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. Korbinian Holzer notched Toronto's only goal of the game, while Drew MacIntyre made 21 saves in the loss. The Marlies recorded a powerplay goal for the fifth straight game.
Look Ahead:
The Marlies will take to the ice for two games this coming week. On Friday night, Toronto travels down the QEW for a 7:30 p.m. game against the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. In five games against the Bulldogs this season, Toronto holds a record of 3-1-1-0. Martin St. Pierre continues to lead Hamilton in scoring with 23 points in 22 games.
On Sunday, the Marlies will play host to the St. John's IceCaps, AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets, at 3 p.m. Sunday will mark the first of four meetings between the two teams this season. Eric O'Dell leads the IceCaps in scoring with 24 points in 25 games. Goaltender Eddie Pasquale has posted a record of 10-9-1 in 20 games this season.
