The Toronto Marlies posted a record of 1-1-0-0 this past week. On Saturday, Toronto was defeated by the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, by a score of 4-2 at Ricoh Coliseum.

Greg Scott and Joe Colborne notched goals for Toronto while Drew MacIntyre made 19 saves in the loss. The Marlies went 0-for-3 on the powerplay and 4-for-5 on the penalty kill. Abbotsford outshot Toronto 23-18.

In the second half of back- to-back games, the Marlies defeated the Peoria Rivermen, AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, by a score of 4-1. Rookie forwards Brad Ross and Greg McKegg each recorded three points while Jussi Rynnas stopped 20 of 21 shots in the victory. Toronto went 1-for-6 on the powerplay and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill. The Marlies outshot the Rivermen 30-21.

Look Ahead:

The Marlies will take to the ice four times this coming week. Three of Toronto's next four games will be against the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. Tonight, the Marlies and Monsters square off at Ricoh Coliseum. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. The two teams will meet on two different occasions later this week on both Sunday afternoon and Tuesday night. Rookie forwards Mike Sgarbossa and Andrew Agozzino lead the Monsters in points with 41.

Goaltender Calvin Pickard has posted 16 wins in 38 starts so far this season. The Marlies are 1-1-2- 0 against Lake Erie this season. On Saturday night, Toronto hosts the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres.
