Toronto Defeats Lake Erie 2-1 at Ricoh

Toronto Marlies News Release


The Toronto Marlies defeated the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, by a score of 2-1 tonight at Ricoh Coliseum.

After a scoreless opening period, Mike Zigomanis gave Toronto a 1-0 lead with his 5th goal of the season coming at 9:23 of the middle frame. Lake Erie would equalize at 7:21 of the third period when Geoff Walker notched his 4th tally of the year. Joe Colborne would respond for the Marlies, scoring the eventual game winning goal just over 30 seconds later. Drew MacIntyre stopped 29 of 30 shots in the victory.

Toronto returns to the ice on Saturday afternoon when they host the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres. Puck drop is set for 5 p.m. Limited tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
